flat tappet EFI

Is it possible to convert a 5.0L HO to run a flat tappet cam/lifter setup.What also comes with doing this if possible.Couldn't really find anything on this subject.Just a brain storm.

You can make some insane power with a flat tappet setup. Im pretty sure the roller cams just run smoother.

Yes you can and it's simple. My 351w is EFI flat tappet. All you need is cam lifters and the correct valve springs and a new dizzy gear. But then you need to break the cam and lifters in after you install it. peace

i dont see how a flat tappet camshaft will make more power than a roller.

there's less friction with roller lifters.

maybe your refering to a SOLID lifter?


and i dont see the reason for converting to flat tappet if you already have a roller cam.

Thats my guess, you can make some SERIOUS power with solid roller, but reliability and longevity kinda goes down the tubes.
