flat top pistons cam or rockers

Just wondering what my options are. I have a 88gt but I think my bottom end is a 86. When I installed my gt40p heads I noticed that my pistons were flat top with no valve releafs. That being said what are my cam options or maybe I should go with some roller rockers. Would 1.7,s be too big.

Have you checked piston to valve clearance? I would be surprised if the GT40 heads have enough clearance even with the stock cam. ANY aftermarket cam is only going to make it worse.

'86 pistons and any sort of inline valve head don't mix well.

i wish i had the answer for you roworld. i'm trying to find that out myself. also nikwoaC i'm currently running a 86 302 with gt40p heads and it works just fine. its a beast just want sum lope. not noise cuz thats covered with my long tubes and off road H
