Flexplate question

I have a 79 stang with a rebuilt 302. The C4 trans was taken out and I have a 89 AOD to go in it. My question is what flexplate do I use with that engine and trans combo? I was told to use a 164 tooth 28.oz flexplate, is that right?

You need 28oz specialty flywheel. Summit or Jegs may have something like that. Or if you are feeling particularly cheap...find a 351W AOD automatic flywheel (mid 80's through early/mid 90's). All 351W's had 28 oz imbalence. Same as your '79 302. It'll bolt on.
