I am not an expert by any means but I would think you would have to remove tranny (at least drive shaft), exhaust, front to rear fuel&brake lines and park brake cable to give you a decent amount of room to remove old and install the new pan.

I should add the individual repair panels look as though you would not have to disassemble everything but you would have the witness lines of weld repair which would be visible. I would say it depends on how original you want the apperance from underneath (show vs functional).

I am sure others who have done this can chime in but having spent a lot of time under mine this past week it depends on what you are going for with the car. I had a 68 which had new floor pans installed on both sides but were butt welded as the hump starts up over the tranny/driveshaft area. Did it look great laying under the car? Not so much but it was solid as a rock!
How bad are the pans it might be better to just replace what is needed and keep as much of the original metal as possible. The floor is part of the structure and you will need to make sure the car is well supported and I would keep the doors closes if possible just to be on the safe side.

How hard is the windshield to remove? (yes...i am a newbie when it comes to body work on any car let alone an old mustang) lol
But i know the windshield needs to come out anyway because i THINK im replacing the firewall too...its rusted pretty bad in a few areas

I was in the same boat about this time last year. Got a welder and air compressor and went at it. It is not hard just take your time and it will be ok. I decided to do the cut and patch method instead of the one piece because of ease and it is less likely to get the car out of square.mustangman70 said:

I got the wipers of thanks god, and i have the cowl cover panal gimmick off...now im guessing i have to take the wiper motor off....and then even though i see all the bolts for the cowl...it LOOKS liek on the sides kinda where it meets the front qouater panals that there is some welding there....is it just me? or after i get those bolts off will that cowl come off?

I recently replaced a floorpan (full) in my 67 fastback. It won't fit through the window, it goes in one of the doors. Do some good measurements and support the car well (not just with jackstands) before you attempt this. There isn't a lot holding unibody cars together, you'd be surprised what an integral part the floor is!
