I thought I'd start a new thread, since I've reached the point were I can drive my car, plus I don't know where the other thread went.
For those who don't know the story, I got my tubo done and the first time I took it out, I came home on a flatbed. The next week I took the motor apart, put new head gaskets in and had it all back together in less than 10 hours all said and done. So yesterday a buddy and I decided to get it running again. When I first started it, I could tell the timing was way off. As we were getting ready to set the timing, my car started on FIRE. Thats right, it was on FIRE and the whole hotside was glowing orange. So we put the flames out with Vault and let it sit for 20 minutes. We thought that the timing had to be way retarted, and come to find out, we were exactly right. While I was in the car keeping it running, my buddy started to adjust the timing and everything just got instantly better. It idled and had great throttle response. So after letting it idle for a while, everything was awesome. So we decided to take it out ( in a blizzard). haha. Even thought we decided to not make any boost, it was amazing. I think I wet myself about five times. We had a perma-grin the whole time. Then we got it home, shut it off on purpose and everything was perfect. Nothing was leaking and everything was ice cold. The intercooler literally had ice on it.
So, tomorrow I am ordering a clutch and MSD 6al. To not ruin my T5 right away, I think I am just going to give a king cobra a try. Promotion and D&D both said that is what they would do, so I hope it works out. I am also getting my 3.55's put in soon. After I get 500 miles on the clutch, I'll be off to the dyno. Should be about two weeks from now, depending on the weather. We have about 4" of snow right now.
I'll post pics when I get my camera.
