I have the Flowmaster American Thunders on my 2007 GT and my neighbor has told me that I have woken her up with the when I leave for work at 6 am. I also have the BBK cold air intake, and that seems to have made them a little louder as well.
I have those American Thunders by Flowmasters, along with JLT CAI, SCT tune by THR, BBK long tubes, BBK x-pipe without cats. I really don't like them. I'm yanking them off and getting something else. Any ideas?

With your X pipe, you need a straight thugh mufler for better sound. Not a chambered one such as Flowmaster. Corsa, SLP, Stingers, yada yada yada are such that sound better with the X I believe from threads on here.
I can speak for the straight through design (stingers) and o/r x. I love mine, they have a wicked sound, especially with a good tune in the pcm. I wanted flows until I heard some on a s197 and didn't like the sound at all. The best advice I can give is go to some Mustang cruise ins and shows and listen to other folk's combo to get real world sound.
