Flow numbers for aftermarket intake???

Anyone know where you can find a compilation of specs for aftermarket intake manifolds for sbf intakes. i.e. performer, p rpm, weiand stealth,and others. before i run out and buy something besides my performer, iwant to make sure it will really make a good bit of difference.

flow numbers alone dont mean alot. a vic jr will flow great, but probably slow your car down.. low port velocity.. my vert ran slower with the RPM than it does with the performer.. even with the AFR heads.. a little work on the ports of the performer helps alot..

a stealth would work for you too..

ok, well i realize flow numbers wont do it all, and there are other things to consider such as single plane versus dual and your individual cam and heads and all that. basically what im looking for is whether or not it is really worth going to a weiand stealth or other over a performer in my situation. if im only gonna gain 5 hp, its not worth it. do u get what im saying? my setup is stock heads, performer cam, holley 670 carb, 2200 rpm stall converter, 3.55 gears. i still think the performer works better than a stock intake just from the seat of pants feeling, but will anything actually work better for a low rpm power motor. dual plane is probably where i want to stay

if you have room under the hood, you might try a 4-hole and an open 1" spacer.. the open will give you more top end.. the 4-hole usually pics up the TQ.. I have a 1/2" phenolic one on my performer.. and I matched the intake ports to the heads..

actually i already have exactly what you are talking about. i have a 1" phenolic 4 hole spacer i cant really tell if it helps or not, but im sure it keeps the heat down a tad off of the carb

To be honest, if you are running stock heads, I think you have all the intake you need.

yeah, i probably agree but am always looking for some way to help until i can afford some heads and something that will work with new heads as well. my heads were opened up a tad on the exhaust side when they were rebuilt but the valves are still stock size.

By the way darknight thanks for the intake info. thats what i was looking for!

According to this test the weiand was def. the best, but the question is, which weiand is it? the xcellerator or stealth or what. i know the test wa quite awhile ago, does anyone know? Dark Knight?

[sarcasm] but the performer is worse than a 40 year old stock ford intake [/sarcasm]

*also remember, that article is from 1988
that weiand intake has a part # listed in the article
fletcher said it is similar to the edelbrock torker 1 (you can tell from pictures also)

im just gonna stay with the performer for now. i replaced a 40 year old 2bbl cast manifold and i know its better than that
