I'd like to put on one of the Flowmaster American Thunder kits on my 06 GT.
They offer two the American Thunder kit and the Classic kit, the classic has 40 series mufflers.

Are Flowmaster really bad about drone? If is, at what RPMs does this happen.
I love the sound of them better than any other muffler.

I saw one GT on YouTube and it sounds like what I want.

I had the 40 series mufflers, not the new design. It did drone at around around the 2000-2500 RPMS. I think there are better choices than flowmaster A/T and even the new classic design. Listening to youtube is okay, but you should hear different set-ups in person.

Look up my screen name on youtube and you'll see my videos both with the Flows and currently MAC (posted after 4/08). I like the MACs better as it has a slightly deeper tone.

kooldawg swapped his mufflers because he had a baffle inside the muffler come loose an start to rattle. I have the same problem right now. based on the number of people i have seen have this problem, i would get something else. i do love the sound with my O/R H, but cannot live with the rattle.

if you plan on keeping the stock mid-pipe i guess the flow masters are ok....

with o/r h, the flows don't sound to terrible
but with a o/r x, its horrible! spend a little more and get Corsa or Magnaflow!

I did have a baffle issue with my first set of Flows. They were replaced later in '07. I believe they found the manufacturing issue and corrected the problem. I ran the 2nd set of Flows up until late April '08 when I swapped them for the MACs (helluva deal I couldn't pass up and figured I'd give them a try). A buddy of mine put the Flows on his '07 and never had a problem with the baffles. I don't believe I'd get the Flows again if I had it to do all over again.
