Just wanted to let everyone here at Stangnet what happened with my Flowmasters. Around 9 months ago my first set of flowmasters started to rattle and buzz around 900-1500 rpm. I called summit and they sent me a new set at no cost.(Had to send the others back). 6 months after that they started making the same noise again. So I called summit and explained to them the situation. So I decided to get the JBA axleback and pay the difference. So I now have the full JBA system. The sound is better with the JBAs than it was with the flows. There still is some resonance around 2500-2750 rpm, but it does sound better. I believe that there is another thread about this issue on another Mustang forum. Not sure but I think this only happening to people that have after market mid pipes and/or headers.

also happened to kooldawg (sp?) on here, iirc.

That is some poor quality control for what you pay for their stuff...

Yes it was me. I have had no problems with my replacement set(since early May). I know it was an issue that Flowmaster has corrected. The muffler shop I got mine from contacted Flowmaster directly and sent me out a set from their CA warehouse(also at no charge). Probably from the "new" batch. IF these do it as well, I will also switch to a different brand

the only issue i have had with my flows would be rust at the outer case welds. the paint they use does not offer much corrosion protection, IMO. i have an O/O H and have had the flows forever withuot any problems. the two have been combined since march of last year.

My second set have now outlasted the first set. The bad thing about the second set though is the tips discolor(turn brown like dirt, but does not wash off)very quickly(nearly every 2 weeks)whereas the first set never did!!!!!

Thanks! I will give it a try. I have been using Eagle One's Never Dull wadding polish.
