Hey guys I have two questions. I was wondering if this would be a nice set-up for an exhaust. Some people say that with the Off Road X-pipe it doesn't sound well with the chamber mufflers. I want a deep sound and don't care if it's loud but I really don't want it to sound raspy nor ricey if you know what I mean. Does anyone by any chance know of anyone with this setup? I went on MustangForums to check out the sound clips but theres only a few sound clips but only with a catalystic x-pipe. Any opinions will be gladly appreciated. I forgot to metion it doesn't need to be a UPR X-pipe if anyone has a clip it can be any type of Off Road X-pipe.

For the second question is the UPR Off Road X-pipe any good?

That's not a good comparison even though he said any X pipe. The UPR X pipe sounds good with Flows, while the BBK X doesn't sound good at all. You should like it.

Thanks to the both of you. I've purchased both the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust and the UPR X-Pipe this morning. I just didn't want to get that raspy sound if you know what I mean. When I get into the saleen it's a total different ball game and I was tired of the stock exhaust on my 99 Mustang GT and was looking for that sound that the Flowmaster give. Once again thank you.

Have you had any problems with your UPR X-Pipe?

it sounds good and trashy(yes good and bad) at the same time, off throttle sounds sweet, part or full throttle, not so sweet.(especially in an Automatic)

I had the bbk OR with my flows. Swapped it for the catted bbk x with the flows and its so gorgeous. I'd like to know the difference the UPR unit has over the bbk. When we get a second mustang I'd like to save that 200 I spent lOl. That and the OR smelled like carbage.

I'd like to have some more mustangs just for the many different ways I'd build them. God I suck.

Thanks for all the replies. From all the responses I'm guessing I went with a good set-up. I just didn't want to spend too much on the Mustang Gt since I'm building the motor and everything else on the saleen. I've been neglecting the saleen and didn't have much in my budget to spend a lot on a exhaust for my daily driver. It also sucks that I have an automatic but it's the only way I can keep my leg from getting sore being stuck in traffic for two hours to get home on the 91 east. If anyone from so-cal makes the drive to Riverside they'll know what I'm talking about. Driving the saleen to work was killing me.

Thanks man... to bad that I wont be here till next year lol to put my exhaust on. I'm leaving tomorrow to San Francisco and the exhaust and x-pipe arrive on Monday. It'll have to wait but can't wait to take the weekend and install my exhaust.

You won't regret your setup. BBK and Bassani (any clam-shell X design for that matter), IMHO, don't sound too well with Flowmasters. When you get a "Tru-X" design, like UPR, it sounds a lot better and not as raspy.

Here's what I have come up with (all a matter of opinion):

Clam Shell + Chambers (Flowmasters, Stock)=
Clam Shell + Straight Through (Bassani, Borla, Magnapacks) =
Clam Shell + Straight Pipes (no mufflers) =
Clam Shell + Dumped (no tailpipes, no mufflers) = at idle, on throttle

Tru-X + Chambers =
Tru-X + Straight Through =
Tru-X + Straight Pipes =
Tru-X + Dumped =

Anyone have any additions?
