I am waiting for my Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back system to arrive and was wondering if anyone had installed one themselves and had any tips?

Is there any welding that is required or is it a true bolt on design???

I was quoted at $85-100 to have it installed by the local Meineke, so I'd prefer to save the 100 and do it myself.

COramprat

...I can take it. I think.

Pretty much straight forward, especially the Flowmasters. They tend to have it worked out so that a carport install goes really smooth.

45 minute install with a lift

My brother's friend let me use his lift for $20.00....
My brother and I installed them in about 45 minutes.
Torched off the factory and bolted on the flows.
Install is very straight forward just as they claim.
They sound awesome.

You can do them in the driveway. The secret is jacking the car correctly AND SAFELY. Also, you can't push up the car in the back in a way that presses the rear axle up. You can simply cut the stock mufflers out with a saw...that's what we did.
