I was wondering if anyone has tried the super 40 mufflers from flowmaster yet. If so how do they compare to the sound of the original 40s.(not delta flows)

They are the same size and diameter of the originals. Flowmaster, in order to keep their "delta" patent, needed to upgrade the muffler according to patent rules. So they just widened the space inside the muffler, removed one of the 3 deltas, and called it the super 40. They come on the American Thunder exhaust system, which I have and it sounds freakin amazing.

They sound really good, but not quite the classic flowmaster tone ...you can still tell its flowmaster though ...slightly quieter than the originals, but with improved flow and a unique sound ...I like them ...but dont think they are worth the extra 40 bucks per muffler though ...at least for sound ....if you want maximum performance out of flowmaster, I guess they are the best

i like thef lowmaster sound but i think that the american thunder takes away too much from the awsome mustang sound and makes it sound like all the other muscle cars that use it....cant you still tell its a mustang from a block away with the super 40?

Ive got a set of the original 2 chambers but I was just wondering if they sound as good or better than the super 40s. I'll be putting a prochamber in front of them in the near future and I'd like to have the most sound out of them possible. Shouldn't be too much drone should it?

I say just stick with the originals ..especially if you are going with the prochamber ...unless you wanna spend the extra cash for the super 40s but I don't think it would be worth it ...originals sound great as it is ...and they'll probably sound mean paired with the prochamber

and rice slayer, I know jegs or summit will definetly have the 1 chambers ...and by the way, what kind of planes do you fly? we'll race

Do they still sell original 2 chamber as catbacks? Are the original you speak of the same thing as the regular 40's.
