Is anyone running flowtech long tubes (summit BIG - 32102FLT) with a T5 in a '68 with a 302.

I'm curious if there is any interference with the bell or clutch fork. I've got a hydraulic clutch, so no cable issues.

I called Flowtech (holley) and they said this combo hadn't been tested.

Any photos of ground clearance, fork clearance, and P/S clearance would be great.

Thanks,

Andrew

wont work if your running a cable clutch... i had the same pair on and melted the cable within 10 mins. the way the pipes come down is excatly infront of the cable hook up on the clutch fork. being that u have a hydraulic clutch im not sure how they hook up to the fork. but i do remember it was damn near a straight shot in-between the pipes comming down on the driver side. i wouldnt risk it. also the flange on those are pretty crappy made and often leak. i had to double up the gaskets and cut the flange in-between each pipe to get them to seal correctly. go with some shortys.............

I'm somewhat in the same boat, just with a 65 coupe. What shorties are known to work? I know the hi-po's work but are there any others that might prove to be a little better performance wise?

I'm not sure about the flowtech long tubes, but hydraulic clutches give you a lot more room to work with. I would have been able to use the tri-ys in the classifieds if I had gone with a hydraulic clutch or had stuck with the old bellcrank style with my T5 conversion. The secondary pipe for the #5 and 7 cylinders comes down right where the cable is supposed to go through.

What headers are people using with their T5 and clutch cable setups? If you go to Modern Driveline's website they mention Hooker and Hedman and give a part number for the Hedmans. I would like to hear of or see someone running them with this setup.

I'll post some PICS when I get a chance but there is no issue with the hyd clutch or clearance to the fork. This will be the same on your 68 since it's not related to the body. They (p/n:32102) hang lowon mine and sometimes hit because I have the early pre mid-65 engine mounts which put the motor an inch lower and I've cut the front coils. Don't have PS so I'm not sure if there would be issues at front of motor or by steering arm on driver's side. Close to bell on passenger side but don't hit. They worked also with the 289/3 sp/z-bar setup before swapping to 302/T5.

I have a set of modified Headman's for sale. I have a 67 coupe that did have a 302/T5 set up with a cable clutch. I modified a set of Headman's to clear the cable and tuck up under the car. You can not see them from the side of the car. I also welded Hooker tapered reducers (down to 2 1/2") with a O2 bung. The car dose not have power steering. The collectors are aimed at the humps in the trans cross member. I have pics of the headers in and out of the car. $150 + shipping. Used for one summer. I am putting a 393 in this winter so these headers must go. PM me with your email address for pics.
