I've searched around here and on google a while and read as many threads as I could about 5.0 motors and flywheels.
My situation:
Recently I took my clutch off to replace it and also my flywheel to re-surface it. I had no idea that my car has an imbalanced motor and relies on the flywheel for balance. I have an 88 5.0 coupe, but for some reason I'm pretty sure my engine is out of a later model. I believe this because when I went to the part store to buy a starter the 88 starter was too big. I wound up putting a 90-something starter on.
Now, since I did not mark the flywheel, from what I've read it's a 50oz, what do I have to do to make sure it's put back on correctly? Does the orientation of the counter weight section of the flywheel matter? It doesn't appear that there are any pins for alignment and it appears as though the bolt holes are all the same size.
Any direction or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated...
