Flywheel position 289 28oz

Wonder, if anybody knows how to install flywheel in correct position? I have 289 engine with 28 oz flywheel. I am doing auto trans to T5 swap and I didn´t mark position of flexplate before. Anybody can help?

It'll only go on one way, the bolt holes are slightly offset.

Yup, it's not possible to install with the unbalance in the wrong orientation.

Be careful here, you need to make sure to use a 28oz flywheel on this motor. The motor the T5 came off of was most likely a 50oz imballance. If you are using that flyhweel then you need to have it reballanced.

Does the same apply for a flexplate on an auto? Looking at the bolt pattern it doesn't seem to be unique to any particular orientation.

Same thing, only one way to get all the bolts in.

It's even harder to get right with a flexplate if you still have the reinforcement washer that goes between the bolts and plate. As zookeeper & the others have said, all the holes line up one way, no way to get it wrong
