Flywheel question.

I don't believe that particular clutch assembly will fit your application. The disk associated with that part number is for a T-5 and does not have the proper number of splines for the TKO. As for the flywheel, unless your engine is internally balanced for 28 oz. (meaning aftermarket engine assy,) then you will need a 50 oz. imbalanced flywheel. If your car is a daily driver, then I'd suggest you stick with steel and not aluminum. Centerforce recommends against aluminum for their DF anyhow.

As far as your part number goes... Summit racing part number CTF-DF1611057 is for a stock 86 to 95 application (meaning the T-5). If you're ordering directly from Centerforce then go with what they tell you to go with so long as they understand that you have a TKO. If you order from somewhere else... make sure they also understand that you're installing with a TKO. The only difference in the clutch kit for your application is the number of splines on the clutch disk. Everything else should be identical.

I'm assuming that this TKO is already in your car? If so, great... should be a straight forward install. If it's something you're planning to install along withthe new clutch; do you already have the new slip yoke for the drive shaft? The output splines for that tranny differ from the T-5 as well.

EDIT:!!!!! My mistake... I read the application guide wrong. The part number I listed at the top has a little note down at the bottom that says:

It struck me odd that part number you had was identical except for their proprietary prefix. So... the DF161057 "IS" the TKO version. My bad... The DF021048 is for the T-5.

Cool... glad it's sorted. It sucks when you get everything ordered and it's the wrong thing. I'm reasonably sure that all the FMS crate engines use the 50 oz. imbalance with the exception of their 347. It looks as if the part you listed for the motor you plan to obtain is being replaced by M-6007-XB3. Eitther way... they're all listing 50 oz. dampers and flywheels. Good luck with your project!
