I was wondering if anybody knows if I can use a 164 tooth flywheel that came off 1973 Q code Cleveland on a 72 302? I pulled the entire 4speed assy from a 351 car to convert mine from an automatic. The 351 from the car is long gone and they replaced it with a 302 which blew up. Is there any other parts that would be different for the four speed set up?

Yes you can use the flywheel, and yes you will need a manual specific starter to engage the ring gear.

you will need the 164 tooth bellhousing as well.

I do have the bell housing that came with it. Is this a 28oz. fly wheel then? Do you know if I should use the 11" clutch assy for it or the 10.5?

Thanks for the tip about the starter, I have two starters from my automatics, I just assumed they were the same.

all 351w and 351c flywheels are 28oz imbalance wheels. as for clutch size, i would go with the 11" clutch.

So then only the 1982 + 5.0 liter/302 has the 50 oz imbalance?

I'd go with the 11" clutch too.
