I took the car down to the shop so they could help me diagnose a few problems I've been having. Ive had a tick out of the #3 or 4 for a while and they thought it might just be a valve adjustment. I told them I had aftermarket 1.6 RR and they asked if they were adjustable, I said I thought they were (why wouldnt they be??? ) so we popped the valve cover. They said they were not adjustable at all, just an allen screw to tighten them down? Im confused, from the FAQ's it sounded like all pedistal mount rr were adjustable. So all he did was make sure that all of em were tight and slapped the cover back on. The tick is still there so he suggested it was the lifters (as I originally thought). So I guess my question is, what is an adjustable RR?

A Ped mount rocker use shims for adjustment, this allows proper preload. I assume they are calling a stud mount rocker adjustable, it does the same thing but you adjust more on the polylock and set screw then using shims. Proper geometry is more important, push rod length, radial clearance, alignment with the valve, etc..

Sounds like you may need some shims to allow proper preload. Find another shop....

Well the RR's were adjusted perfectly when I bought the car so unless I bent a pushrod the geometry should be ok. More than likely its the lifter which is ok since I was going ti replace them anyway, I was just confused by this 'non-adjustable' crap. The shop I went too is know for catering to 5.0's so Im not worried about their rep. They went through the whole car with me and I was quite satisfied. Meridian Performance get my
