Do you guys think these kits are a waste of money? I really want the big brakes in the front and stuff, and I just feel like its the right way to do it, what do you guys think?

Im sick of not being able to stop.

It's a great upgrade and you can run certain wheels
you can't with the four lug.

Upgrading the brakes on a fox is never a waste of money. It should be one of the first things before throwing money in the motor.

If you want a brand new complete kit w/ instructions go for it!

For me, I have the knowledge to do it myself and save alot of money.
Im going with 96 Spindles w/ the PBR Aluminum calipers and 13" rotors for the front. Ill be leaving the rear drum, since most of the braking is up front.

So far:
96 Spindles w/hubs-$50
99+ PBR Calipers- $50
13" Rotors- $50
SS Lines-$25

So at $175 its pretty dang cheap.

I sure hope you are using the PBR calipers that came on the 99+ Cobra/Bullit/Mach1. The 99-04 PBR’s that came on the GT’s and V6’s will not work with 13” rotors. But I am sure you know that already.

I am sure he ment PBR Cobra calipers...

I too am taking the same path as onefstsnake. I am goint to run some 1995 spindles though and switch to rear disks. I am hoping to keep my swap to around 1000

well the only reason I say this is he put 99+ calipers, and the price he got them seems really cheap, or he got a smokin deal on them.

I know I won't be able to find PBR cobra calipers and brackets for that cheap. I'll probably have to lay down at least $100.00 on eBay or more for new ones...

yeah they are from a Mach 1. The guy sold me everything listed for $175
Brand new rotors/pads and everything else doesnt have more than 15k miles on it.

He went with a brembo 6 piston setup.

The nice thing about the FMS Kit is everything is brand new and in the box, you dont have to go searching all over and then have used parts that might require replacing.

I got the 2300k kit, loved it. Like Shakerhood said, everything is new and you don't have to rely on used equipement.

The FMS kit is great, and when you need replacement parts the kit uses OEM Ford equipment, so you can get rotors or pads easily or any other misc parts you may need to replace.

That's one of the major benefits over other kits like Baer.

If you are resourceful you can peice the kit together, after all it's OEM parts. I did my j/y M2300K kit for about $700

leaving the rear drums. So the stock MC should be fine for just the front brakes...

Might as well do the Booster and M/C Now, so if you ever decide to do Discs out back you will be ready.

Leaving the rear drums on is not so good. To me, Fox with drums says, "not serious" or at best, "drag car only". With the full Baer kit you get vented rotors in the rear and braided lines. And of course the bling bling slot/drill/zinc plate option. Nice to have all new parts, but it does cost though. Patient people with good mechanical aptitude can piece it together for less.
