You're going to need to get a switch and wire it in to the system. You can get a stock one at a dealer or try 50resto.com

that's right, you'll need the foglight switch. it's located next to the handbreak--it replaces one of the coinholders.

open up your center console, unscrew and remove the storage bin and stick your hand underneath. you'll find the wiring harness (actually two of them--one for the fogs and the other for the convertable top) and you'll be able to pop up the coin holder. stick the wiring out, connect the switch, and push it into place.

i wouldn't recommend messing w/ any of the wiring--get a switch off 50resto or from a junkyard and you'll be good to go w/out any worries.

I would be easier to jump the stock connector, or do the popular rewire using the vert power connectinos under the console. Otherwise you gotta do some wire running.

I would make sure you have the relay installed (seems to me there is one under the hood) and then you should be able to use a fused jumper wire across the terminals on the stock headlight pigtail in the console cavity.

Good luck.

get a voltmeter and find the acc wire to the fog ligts, then find the same wire to the headlights, jump that with a wire and when you turn on ur lights you'll turn on the fogs.... but make sure u don't use a wire that's a constant power... or u'll run ur battery down

You have located the OEM fog light switch plug under the console, right? Well, the switch just connects the terminals on that connection. SO you can put a jumper wire across those terminals right now, in lieu of a switch (so you can get the lights to work). You could accomplish the same thing with a rigged in switch from the parts store. It would be better to just get a real switch (under 20 bucks at LRS; less at the J/Y). Either way would allow you to turn the lights on, which is what you asked in the opening post.

Now if they dont turn on, make sure you have the fog light relay installed (I dont know if cars that did not have fogs from the factory have the relay installed). If not, you can (and SHOULD) add either an OEM relay or an aftermarket SPDT or SPST relay.

Now, here is one write up on changing the 'source' wire for the fog lights (so you dont need headlights to be on to turn fogs on). And here is another article.

Good luck.

check mustangworld.com's how-to's. they have a write-up with pics on rewiring your fogs to run independtly using the vert wiring harness that's already pre-wired in all mustangs--it's even got it's how relay so it can handle the load.

Paul, I think I linked to that article.

Guero, IIRC there is an OEM relay in the underhood fusebox. Check your box to see if the relay is there. If not, grab an OEM relay and toss it in there.

Good luck.

That was my understanding, tho the GTS didn't. Any chance Guero has a GTS? I installed fog lights in my '94 Mustang, and it was pretty easy. The worst part was realizing I needed the fog light relay AFTER troubleshooting the system. All 94-95 Mustangs are wired for the fog lights. All you need is the fog lights & brackets, the fog light switch in the center console, and the relay. the fog light switch hs a plug just for the fog light connector in the center console. Make sure you don't get the convertible top switch; it looks the same but connects to a different plug (also in the center console).

Guero,

If you install the parts above without rewiring anything, the fog lights will turn on when you turn on the headlights. Just leave the fog light switch on at all times. The fog lights will be then be off when your headlights are off, and on when they're on. The only time you'll need to rewire the system is if you want the fog lights on when the headlights are OFF.
