Guys I just dont like the fact that my fog lights turn off when I turn on the high beams. I want to re-wire so the fog lights are on when I turn them on, and off when I want them off. Is this a major re-wire, or a module replacement?

Why do they(Ford) even do this? I need to draw from some experience as to why I should not do this, and what is involved.

I believe it's illegal to run high beams and fog lights, I remember correctly. That's why Ford did it.

Yep, it's a legal thing. My previous cars did this, as well.

Next time you drive through fog throw on your high beams and tell me how it works out. I'm assuming they figure if you're driving and have your highs on, you don't need your fogs on.

I thought I read about a way to "fix" this problem somewhere on this forum. I can not find it , but I thought it had something to do with the relay. Does anyone else remember?

I have performed this conversion... well actually a friend did it for me... he is the electrical expert...

long story short... he stole some current from the highbeams so when they are activated, the fog lights would turn off, but then back on when current was drawn from high beam...

Be carefull with the wiring harness, as FORD used a "double-throw" system, which changes polarity on all wires each time the highs or fogs are turned on/off...

BTW I had to run this conversion, b/c I have HIDS on low beams, high beams and fogs, and if I switched to high beams and the fogs went off, as we know ballasts take some time to fully light so there wasn't any point on having highs if fogs would go off.... (did I even made sense on this??? lol)
