Holy crap, sounds expensive. Probably not as expensive as red though. If I were to re-paint the car (which I will in a few years) I'd probably try to add some green pearl or something to make it pop even more. Anyone got different suggestions? Maybe a silver base with green pearl coat?

I love the look of our DFG stangs. When mine has been washed/waxed/polished I have found that my car has two very distinct colors: blue and green.

Under street lights and most other lights at night......my stang is blue.

At sunset or sunrise........my stang is a mix of blue and green.

In normal/strong daylight or in the shade......my stang is green.

Now that the car is getting old, the difference is still there, but not as drastic. I think in a couple years that I'll probably get the whole car repainted the same color.

Only other colors I've considered changing is the 2004 Cobra Mystichrome paint (not the 1996 mystic Cobra paint). My green engine bay wouldn't look to off with Mystichrome. The only issue with whatever color I choose is getting a good prep job and getting it all done right the first time.

A long time ago, I got a small bottle of touch up paint for DFG from Ford. It had a very weird name, but it was the exact same color. The Ford guy said it had something like "pearline" in it (or maybe that was part of the name.

turmaloine I believe was the name of the tint. I don't remember the correct spelling, but I had a V-6 DFG in High school, and it got keyed. I had a pint made to get it repaired, and that was the color name.

That sounds more right than what I posted, lol.

Anyone else notice the color differences?

I never see both green and blue at the same time. It's either one or the other.

Looks good. I think the flash (or lighting) is not allowing the perfect pic .... but we can get the idea. I bet it looks awesome in person.

How did you go about finding what colors are in there? Are they all painted in layers .... or mixed in equal quantities? (Sorry, I know nothing about paint.)

What's in Opal (WJ)?

The flash actually shows more of what it looks like in the light. It brings the metal flake out more. And its all mixed together and sprayed at once.

My buddy who did it for me works at a Ford body shop and they have to mix the paint from all the different colors they have, so it gives them a formula for it. Kinda like what Ihave to do at work, only a little harder casue they have to use a scale.
Ill talk to my buddy and see if I can get a list of whats in some more colors.

turmaloine that the color of my car I forgot the name, although it needs a new paint job there are little scratches all along my car but i will probaly get a new hood then paint it, the green is here to stay!

a darker car is less likely to get noticed when going fast then say a red white or yellow they kind of stick out but when your going 60 over the speed limit i dont think it matters
