i am currently swapping a 5.0 into a 92 notch. i have everything i need except a new rear end. I was really trying to find a turbo coupe rear end which is the ideal thing to do but it is turning out to be more difficult than i had planned. i have bullit thrust wheels for the car and am finding out there is some difficulties with the dust caps for the front and rear disc swaps that i am doing and planning on doing. as for the stock 4 banger 92 rear end does anyone know if this is a posi rear end. i have no idea why it would be but since i am not sure i thought i would ask since someone here should no. the reason i ask is that i have found it much easier to find some rear axles out of a ranger or astro van but i am not sure if that is what i want to spend money on if it still wont be posi.

I know i hit a couple different topics here but any help about any of this would be appreciated. pics of the car and front 5 lug conversion are in the my garage.

It's not a posi. You can buy posi-tracs for the 7.5s now. Add to that a nice set of 5 lug axles and it should hold up as long as you aren't running slicks.

First off, no, the stock 7.5 from your '92 will not have a trak-lok in it.

Second, although you don't actually say it I'm assuming you're converting the rear to 5 lug. If you're gonna do that, why bother trying to find a Turbo Coupe rear axle? Might as well just find a Mustang rear axle to convert since if you take Ranger axles you'll end up with drums anyway.

If i find a turbo coupe i will swap out the whole rear end differential 8.8 3.73 and disc brakes all in one for about $150 from the junk yard.
