For those that have done a 4.6 cam swap

Where did you get the Ford service tool to put the rockers back in?

No one seem to have anything that will work and I really don't want to end up paying almost $200 for a tool I may only use once.

I have found them on Ebay but the shipping is almost $50.

This is the only thing really holding me up on the assembly. Once my headers arrive I will be pretty much ready to drop it back in.
 
Borrowed it from a Percival, a friend of mine used to be one of their top techs. If you know somebody at either Percival or Bennett, they may lend you one.
 
Without using the cam tool to compress the valve spring first then place the rockers between the cam lobe and the lifters. You can and probably will warp or bend the cams or enen break the cam brackets. That would mean new heads

I have seen what happens when you don't use it. So I would rather spend 100 on a tool to do it right, then throw away 600 for messing up the cams or worse 2000 for new heads.

i guess i got lucky i used this write up and it worked for me...

Once you know you have no clearance issues, it’s time to put the cam followers back in. The back of the follow sits on the valve and the front on the lifter. Find a cam lobe that is at the base of its circle (shortest point) and slide the follower under it so that the rear is over the valve, the roller is under the cam lobe and the front of it is directly in front of the lifter. Now take a large screwdriver and position the flat head of it behind the lip on top of the follower and pull backwards using the cam lobe for leverage (fig 15). It will pop the follower back into place. Don’t worry about the cam lobe surface it is very strong and will not scratch. Do this for all followers and make sure to rotate the motor as you go so you can access each one while the base circle is facing down.
