For those who hid wires in fender (OINK), need help (PICS)

Ok, fenders off and hiding the mess. In the pics below which can I get rid of? This is all emission stuff. However they have connectors and I'm not sure if it will throw a CE light or something. I see the fuel vapor canister and I remember reading that someone on here removed it. Let me know.

do you have to remove the canister? Its hidden anyhow. There's a hose coming from it, that goes to your Canister purge valve solinoid, which should be dangling in the engine bay, near the firewall, close to your EGR.

You can remove the TAB/TAD solinoids, which are related to the smog pump, if your not running that. I dont see how they can work, or what purpose they serve once the cats are gone. Just unplug and pull that stuff out, along with the vacuum lines.

As far as hiding wiring goes.. theres not alot to it. I believe i had to lenghten the two headlight plugs with extra wire, about 6" or so. To tell you the truth, i cant remember exactly how i had my wiring, since i have changed it completely, and removed a bunch of extra plugs. If you would like to see pics of how its set up now, i can do that.
If not, i know Jesse ( yellow5.0cobra, i think?), on here, has done the wiring hiding. he might have my old pics, and the old thread, in this forum.

I also had to lengthen the headlight wires on the pass side, that was it for me.

oh what a mess!! I remember that like yesterday. Its hard to believe how much wiring, and crap they stuff under the hood, when they could just as easly route it in the fenders, or atleast try to hide some of it. Oh well, suppose it makes working on, or diagnosing the car slightly easier on the ford tech's.

Joe, my motor is coming out as we speak and will be attempting to hide some wires. I'm not going to go crazy but just mainly clean some stuff up.

The main thing is cuting the hole under the fuse box, then pulling the whole harness through that hole. Then you can run the part that goes to the pass side under the radiator instead of above. Its pretty easy/basic, just time consuming. I cut alot of the harneses back and retaped them to thin them out.

Man you guys got really sick. I was just trying to hide just a few things without having to take the entire harness out. Well I worked on it today and the passenger is pretty clean. I printed out the pics, thanks.

RIO, not sure about the time frame. The 408 is still my top choice but I'm also leaning on other options because of costs.

Troy, what's up with the motor.

The hardest part of the whole thing was cutting that hole under the fuse box. Joe, since the car is allready down, go ahead and hide all of the wires.

Well I took apart my whole wiring harness and now I'm having a hell of a time putting it back together. Can anyone tell me where the two plugs right below the plug for the CCRM go? One is listed as unknown by oink and the other one as an ABS one. This true? I already got two plugs plugged into the ABS right now, is there 3? Also that little plug right under the power distribution box in the picture, where does that connect too?

Lastly, I tried starting the car but the starter won't engage. Is one of the plus on the wiring harness go to the starter or something? It won't kick in at all. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks

One should go to your fan and the other to the overflow. If this is not the ones you are referring to get up a pic.
