Ok i'm gonna play the role of the unbiased car enthusiast, and not take Ford's side since i am a Mustang owner. I'll tell ya why i own a Mustang and not an LS1 powered Camaro or WS6, because A) I cant afford another loan payment, and i hate the idea of modding something i dont "own", and B) After my first drive in a Mustang i was hooked.

On the flipside to that, i did however test drive an '02 Trans Am WS6 about a year ago, and man it hauled @ss. It would eat my 'stang, to say the least. My problem with these cars are many though. For one, i absolutely hate the engine bays in these cars ('94-02 Camaros and TAs) because they're just cluttered to death. A full length install is a nightmare on those cars. Sure Chevy parts are cheaper, and sure the LS1s make big power for little mods, but i think it's about the whole package.

BUT, lets say i had the cash to put together a '70-'73 Camaro with a built LS1, then i'd be aaaaaall over it. Then again, if i had that kind of cash i'd just put the "03 Cobra motor/trans package into my car and be done with it. Then you're just one pulley swap away from a solid 400+ to the rear wheels.

Why not use a 9. Your rearend is just as strong as an 8.8. QUOTE]

The factory Chevy rearend is a 7 5/8(7.625 for you metric guys) and is unbelievably(sp?) weak.........its also the same rearend used in the S-10/Sonoma trucks.

someone once told me that S10s have a 3.73 gear that you can put into a Ford 8.8? Sounds like BS to me.

Well thank you for the input on the 8.8.
I did not try to start a fight? Well hope you all have a good time with your cars and good luck with every thing!
Thank you Skydog P.S With a very good 60 foot i should be low 11 all day but if i put a little bigger NOS jet in i hope for the high 10! But all the numbers and stuff dont mean a thing at the track! One more thing help me keep the *** crap be hind us!!

My friend has 480HP and 535lb-ft torque (dyno tested) and has a stock 8.8 and runs with slicks at the track and they have not yet broke...
