Just to let everyone know that is having tranny issues with the 3650. Mine was grinding from 1st to 2nd and sometimes up into 3rd. They test drove the car once and told me there was no problem. So I waited till after the new year and went back demanding that they fix my car.

After taking a ride with me in the car they def noticed the problem and put a new tranny in my car. I was only without the car for 3 days and they did a great job. The tranny shifts smooth as butter now and feels great.
Just wanted to share with anyone if they are having the same problem.
Oh yeah and I had 18k miles on the car.

Thanks

Did they replace it, or do the TSB? Mine was doing the same thing, and they did the TSB. It was done right before the weather got bad, so I have only put a few miles on it since, but it seems to be better so far.

I had mine rebuilt, and the throw out bearing replaced. I took it in for a whiny throw out bearing and as they were cheaking out the tranny they called me up and said i have some major tranny problems, (04 GT). When i got the car back WOW! what a difference in how smooth it shifts especially from first to second. Now here i am 5000 miles later with the tranny getting worse and worse as i drive it. It shifts into second roughly and into 3rd i feel it is a bit harsh. This week im going in to get my passenger seat frame replaced and ill talk to them about my tranny, hopefully i can get them to just put in a new one before its outa warrenty. I took mine in at a little over 19,000, it now has about 24,000.

This has been going on for sometime with a number of members here.

I had the problem on my 03. Ford did the TSB, but it didn't get better. Since I knew the dealer, they installed a new 3650, but it was an older build date. So they did the TSB on the new tranny and that fixed it about 18,000 miles ago.

I've heard good and bad things about the fix. My tranny grinds slightly into 2nd when it's cold but clears up quickly.

I'm not sure it's worth the risk of having ford tear into it since i have heard from other guys it doesn't always work

I was having same problem, Ford did TSB and 2000 miles later problem was back. I installed a Fiore clutch quadrant and firewall adjustor and I have to say that 80% of the problem is gone since I can adjust the clutch now, best $80 I ever spent.

my car doesn't like 2nd gear, never has

doesn't matter if it's cold out or if the car is warmed up, it always has a rough time going into 2nd. doesn't grind, just engages rough
didn't change when i installed the adj. firewall/quadrant

i don't know if i should even bother taking my car to ford, warranty has been gone since last year:shrug:

Mine was grinding on the shift from 2nd to 3rd and ford did the TSB thing on it, it had about 56k miles on it. Now at about 64k miles it grinds from 3rd to 2nd second downshift. Ill be taking it to get fixed before I roll the 75k mark im at 67 now. And it damn well better be a free fix or ford will hear it from me!
