Ford Racing C Springs?

Hey, I have a 2003 GT. I am wanting to get rid of the 4x4 look but I dont want to drop it real low. I am wondering if anyone has these springs. Also would I need stuts and shocks? or Caster Camber plates? I have a lot of tire wear on the outside of my front tires...would caster camber plates fix this or could I just get a simple alightmnet? THANKS

My dad did the full Bullitt suspension which is "C" springs Tokico shocks and struts and swaybars it isnt extremely low and it rides better than the stock suspension on my 03. I just ordered some Ford Racing "B" springs and it said that you wont need new shocks, struts or c/c plates.

My dad got that suspension kit at www.stangsuspension.com for $417.

Do a search. There are literally hundreds of us that have them and like them a lot.

I replaced my S&S at the sametime but is not neccesary right away. You will eventually. No CC"s for me, tires have a slight camber but ni issues or tire wear.

If you want a drastic drop, don't go with the "C" springs. They drop the front and rear around and inch. I just spent 4 hours last night installing them myself. I like the look right now and am waiting for them to settle.

I don't think so. C springs are static rate and B springs are progressive.

I have been running C springs for 4 or so years now. I still have the stock shocks and no C/C plates. You will be fine with out them.

The C springs are definetly stiffer than stock. They are linear and about 600 lbs/in in the front. That is up for the stockers being around 450 in/lbs. They will definetly stiffen up your ride. However, the are not that stiff IMHO. If you have nice roads where you live you will probably not even notice that much, that is until you take your first corner Also, the rear springs sit too high, at least they used to. Most people cut one coil of the rears to even out the car. I did, and it really makes a big difference.

Progessive rate springs do not have the same spring rate throughout the entire travel of the spring. They have a softer spring rate at first, and then the spring rate increases as the are compressed. You can jsut imagine that they are two different springs stacked on top of each other, a softer one and a stiffer one. They cost more, but they give you a better ride on the street. The softer intial spring rate helps to smooth out the bumps, and the stiffer rate will help you during cornering and braking. The only down sides is that they cost more.

Actually, it's more like 1 1/2'"-1 3/4"........just let them settle and see.

I've had my Bullitt shocks/struts C-spring combo on for about 3 years now....no complaints whatsoever. Best $350 I ever spent.

Here's a recent pic. I just switched from 275/40 up front to 265/35 because it rubbed when fully turned, so there is slightly more gap than before.

Looks good, but I think the C springs dont drop the car enough. But as far as the price goes for the C springs, you cannot really beat that.

Try some Steeda Sport Springs

I would do the C springs again, but I would install shocks/struts at the same time. My stockers are on the way out with about 20,000 miles since the spring install.

Don't drop enough?

Mine have settled more then I thought. I installed mine 2 years ago and they dropped at least 1 3/4 to 2 inches in the front and 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 in the back. Much lower and I would be able to drive on city streets.

I was just quoting from Mustangtuning.com where they advertise this: 'These Ford Racing Springs (C-Springs) will lower your car 1"-1.25". I'm not calling you a liar or flaming you, just relaying what I have been told rather than experience. Though I do notice that the front dropped quite a bit after they were installed. The rear not as much. I didn't measure before and after, just comparing based upon what I've seen.
