Anybody try this? The price is good ($299 on partshopper), but you gotta wonder about the performance and tone -- tone more than anything else. I would think it would be different from the stock catback. I you use it, what is your opinion?

I love mine. It's noticably lounder than stock, and much deeper in tone...however, it's not Flowmaster loud. It's good for someone who wants more of a musclecar sound, but not something over the top.

If you're considering Flowmasters/Magnapacks though, the FRPP system will likely be too quiet for you though.

OEM-quality, perfect fitment and importantly no drone. A few others here have them, and are generally happy I believe. :nice:

I have the FRPP catback kit on my 98 GT and I love it, louder than stock and deeper too. It performs better too.

Seems that it should be a perfect fit, and everybody appears to like FRPP stuff (makes sense -- fitment, etc. should be perfect). I wonder how the sound compares to Magnaflow (not Magnapack). Mustangexhaust is down right now, so I don't know if they have sound clips for FRPP catback. Anyway, thanks for the responses.

Yeah I have listen to all the sounds but it is really hard to decide still, better to hear them in person if possible.. That is probably why I still have factory, can't decide. But I do like the way bassani sounds, my buddy has magnaflow on his 03 cobra and there was no drone and sounds good (not to loud but lets you know its there when he gets on it)

but Gefracing.com has that exhaust for 259

I check partshopper.com and it was the same model number so save even a few more bucks.

Direct bolt-on, and the tailpiping is clamped to the tubing after the axle.

I suppose you could have the whole thing welded (catback to midpipe, and tailpipes welded to catback) if you wanted, but not strictly necessary.

Here's a couple of FRPP catback threads for you, including when I was deciding which catback to get - might help. Also not sure of the type of construction. I'm almost positive it not flow through, but not sure if it's chambered either.

Those two threads are very helpful. Especially the second one. I had been wondering what the tips were like. Same as stock I guess. I wonder how far they can be extended. One thing I always liked about the 95-98 GTs is that the tips extend a few inches further out the back than the 99+.
