Its a powerdyne charger SKIP IT!!! Save your money and get a Paxton, Vortech or Procharger. Powerdynes are known for snapping internal belts that are a pain in the ass and expensive to fix.

people on these forums usually dont agree on much, but we all agree that powerdynes are basically crap. go with a vortech, it has a reputation for reliability and also has a warranty

I believe there is no warranty on any ford racing parts. They are used for Racing they have no idea what your going to be doing to the car. Im going to be purchasing a Vortech S-trim soon. You cant loose with Vortech its a very well known company. Houston performance has good prices on Vortechs and Prochargers.

Powerdyne warranties the Ford Racing Superchargers (for two years like the ones they sell under their name). If you are looking for a street blower and don't plan on making alot of boost, then its not bad for the money. I'm very happy with mine. The install was easy and I haven't had any problems. People over at the Supercharger forum at the Corral seem to be more positive about them then here. I got mine brand new with a warranty for $2000 and I couldn't find a used vortech for a 94/95 for that amount (and I tried for 6 months - ebay, the corral, etc) and then you don't even know what your getting. If you plan on making more than 9 lbs of boost, then yes, I'd go for something else. If you overspin these blowers, you well break belts and possibly have bearing problems. At 9lbs or less they seem to hold up okay (they older ones got a legitimate bad rap) and if you do break a belt you can fix it yourself by getting the belts on ebay cheap. If you damage a mechanical blower, you won't be able to do that.

It all depends on your intended use and how much money you have. If money wasn't an object I probably would have gone for a Kenne Bell!

If money was no problem I would just do the 03 Cobra swap...but money is an issue. with the ford X or Z heads would this blower be okay? I plan on doing 6-8 psi on the boost side.

I say yes. Plenty will say no - you'll have to make the decision yourself.

I recommend you search the Supercharger forum at the corral - you'll find tons of threads on powerdynes. That should help you make up your mind.

who wants a supercharger that there always having to send away to be fixed. Plus no one will pay for it once the warrenty runs out except you. Powerdynes suck

A lot of guys in our club have the Ford Racing branded Powerdynes. As far as I know, none of the 6lb ones have broken. As a matter of fact, they have been more trouble free that the paxtons, but to be fair those are bigger blowers.

Should be OK with the aluminum heads, just to get a little more air in.

I'm happy with mine. The car is only for street/cruise use, no track use. I especially love the 'sleeper' effect... its so silent under 'normal' driving you'd never know it was a blown car. Stomp on it and you'll likely smoke the tires.
