Wondering if anyone knows if i can use a stock 5.0 or MSD dizzy with electronic timing advance in my 289. Im thinking msd part# 8455 could work becuase its got an iron gear, or stock roller cam with a gear change. Im going to run it to my cd ignition box and use with a Holley Commander 950 efi set up. Thanks for the heads up.

With a Ford distributor, you'll need to watch the bottom shaft length. The TFI units had longer bottom shafts and if you have a heavy duty oilpump drive, it won't seat all the way into the block. You might have trouble with it fitting all the way down onto a stock drive that's been there for thirty-something years. the varnish buildup might keep the dist shaft from sliding all the way down onto it.
