Ford Throttle adapter for edelbrock

Just got a Edelbrock 1405 and wondering if I need to get a Ford adapter kit for my 66 with a 289?

I had to on mine, it fit and works perfectly.

are you guys running a cable throttle?? I have one on my 67 and it always seems to have a little sticktion. i've wondered if that bracket would line things up better so they were a little smoother.

I'm NOT. I just put it on the carb, and put it to work.

I didn't need it on my 72, 351C. I bought it and installed it but it caused the throttle linkage to open the throttle a bit. So I removed it and it has been fine.
