I am trying to remember when i bought my cobra intake and installed it if it had a baffle on it...now if it did not, how bad could that be for the car?

I have a Cobra intake and use minimal oil, maybe a quart at best between oil changes. Doesn't Steeda make something that attaches to the PCV to catch oil? I seem to recall some gizmo that they had to offer.

The pictured shield and that throttle body came from the same vehicle. The Ford Explorer. That shield is identical to the one on my 98 Explorer manifold.

That`s strange. It`s been a while but I`m pretty sure my stock intake has the big baffle.

There`s a pic of a stock lower on the tmoss porting site and it has the big baffle.

Maybe Ford or whoever cast them used a small one on some stock intakes?

Did you have problems with the stock intake too. Don't understand, if they have the same baffle, why is it a problem with the cobra.

I would like to know because I'm looking to purchase a new intake now. I love the look of the cobra, and it happens to be one of the cheapest right now.

Should this oil baffle problem deter me away into buying a trickflow which is the other intake I was going to purchase.

Not that it may even matter. Im going witht a turbo install this winter, so oil in the intake shouldn't be a problem with the car under boost.
