forged internals?

which years did the svo come with forged nternals from the factory. And which internals were forged? also what were they made of.

All years, the pistons are forged and they are aluminum

as far as I know the svo's came with forged rods, pistons and a cast crank.

Pistons were forged
Rods powdercast (not forged)
Crank cast-iron

It means they are 99% of the time first thing to bend/break in bottom end.

When you cast a metal you have to heat it till it melts and then pour it into a cast and it becomes brittle after doing so because you changed the grain structure of the metal. Where as in forging you start with a blank and you stamp it with a press until the shape is formed. This imparts strength to the piece.

They don't break "easily" by any means...I've seen more than 430 rear wheel horsepower go through them for sustained periods of time. They are however typically the first thing that does break if you make too much power (450+), simply because it's hard for a crank, or pistons to "break"...so the rods do.

and the rods are forged also, not powder cast

most of the time when the break it is at a rod bolt

powder cast/cracked cap rods did not appare till the early '90s

so then for a 400hp build like mine a set of sportsman rods with stock slugs should be fine.??

Yes, or the stock rods with arp bolts...
