Condisering things such as price, reliability, and most of all practicality... would it be a good choice to build the bottom end of 100K mile+ engine for the purposes of a supercharger? Would adding forged components to an older engine increase its reliability and lasting power, or would the other aging parts of the motor like old heads just make the process of building an old engine pointless?

Would forging the bottom end of an old engine make it worthy of a supercharger, or would it be more cost effective/sensible to just buy an entire new short/longblock?
