Just got my system hooked up and my RF 1001bd is making a sort of hissing/whining sound. The noise is coming from the amplifier not the speakers. Everything works and sounds great just wondering if the noise is normal and if not what could be causing it.

Thanks in advance for any input.

it might not be getting eough clean power recheck all your connections and make sure you are using large eough gauge wire and that the wire is of a good stock (more copper)

I wired up with a 4 ga R/F kit. I did some searching on a car audio forum
and the sound appears to be common with the R/F BD series amplifiers.

The good thing is I can only hear it when the rear seats are down with
zero volume.

Thanks again!

No problem. If it ever gets real anouying you might want to run the power from the power supply box and move up to 0 gauge wire.

do those amps have built in fans? In order to make sound, something has to be resonating. Maybe from current passing through?
try Richard Clark's website autosound2000.com He is pretty much the smartest man in the world on car audio.
