Not so good It was alright until my friend pushed on the floorboard under the car and the drivers seat started to wiggle. It was very rotted. Other than that the body was kinda bad, not with rust but the paint is cheap, it's just sprayed over the old paint. So needless to say I am still hunting for one. Maybe at Three Hills I'll find one.
Doh, it logged me in as stangerman, sorry, I thought it was deleted.

There are a few spots that need attention, but it is 15yrs old. It's got 3.55's a K&N filter, and an exhaust that I can't remember the name of Interior is nearly flawless. It does have a problem though. There is a vibration coming from somewhere, it's at the tranny back someplace. The gearshift vibrates and it gets worse as you accelerate to the point of the whole car shaking at about 110-120km/h. I wonder if the driveshaft needs balancing? It does vibrate at all speeds, but it's real bad at hiway. Any thoughts? Could something be messed up in the gears that are in it? There is no grinding noise from anywhere.

Check the driveshaft for any noticable dents or anything. You could try getting your wheels balanced for about $10 a wheel.

There is no vibration in the steering wheel, could be rear wheels out of balance?

no vibration in the wheel at all??? It possibly could be the back tires. This may sound like a weird question, but does it feel like the vibration is coming from the front or back of the car??

The vibration feels like it's centered in the shifter. There is no noise from the trans. and it shifts smooth so I don't think there is anything wrong there. I am getting the tires balanced, then if that doesn't help the driveshaft checked. Could it be in the gears? The previous owner had 3.55's installed. Oh yeah, what speedo gear do I need to fix my speedometer? It says I'm doing like 140km/h when I'm doing around 90-100km/h.

Start with the small things like you're doing. The worry about if it's the gears or not. I doubt it's them though if they're not whining or anything.

The speedo gear you need depends on what year the car is. I think they changed it to a different driven gear in 90 or 91. If you have something later (91-93) then you need an aftermarket white 23 tooth gear. You can get the part from jeep oddly. This is where i got mine a couple weeks ago. Works just great!

Gears are shot. I am so unhappy right now. There is also a bushing on the end of the tranny that's gone due to the vibration. So in all it's going to be close to a thousand dollar repair bill

thanks, hey on the upside at least I'll know what I got when It's done. I was considering a junkyard rear-end, but maybe in the long run I'll be better off getting new gears installed.

So should I go 3.55's or 3.73's? I want to maintain some hiway ability as well. I am leaning towards the 3.55's.

I am going with 3.73's orderd today, car will be functional on tuesday.
