I have had a strong gas smell coming from my enginge bay for a while now, so I decided to check into it more thouroughly, and found out my injectors are leaking out the top, not by the block but more towards the fuel rail? Anyone else had this problem and have a simple solution? Schucks told my the O-rings on the injectors were bad, could that be it or should I replace injectors or maybe just some FI cleaner.

Been there & done that...

The 88 model year cars had problems with the injectors leaking around the top. There is no known fix. If it leaks bad enough to be a safety hazard, replace the injectors. Used injectors are about $10 a piece from the junkyard.

Well I guess it is a safety hazard since the fumes are prolly hurting my childrens' brain cell count so I should looks like no more kids in the car.
Thanks for the quick response.

I think leaky injectors are more that just a "fume" safty hazard. You don't want to see your car burning to the ground because the gas from the injector leaking caught fire!

jrichker-is it just the 88's? My friends 88 was leaking before he upgraded to 24# injectors, we always assumed it was just a bad o-ring.
