Found this in my oil pickup, can you identify? -pics inside

I was installing a canton pan and windage tray today, I took the pickup off and noticed some plastic pieces inside the pickup. Who knows how long they were floating around inside the pan. The car was running fine before I took the pan off and did not notice any leaks so I dont think it was part of a seal. I did notice that there was another piece near the timing chain that seemed to be made out of the same material (Same color plastic like material). Once of the plastic pieces had PA66 stamped on it. This is out of a bone stock 2000 GT. Any ideas of what this could of been part of??

Those are off the tensioners. Have you pulled the front car and inspected yet?

yup, they are the tensioner guides. i've seen that happen a few times before. hopefully it didnt cause a lot of damage. you should be able to replace them easily once you pull the timing cover off

yup, its the tensioners, when i pulled my motor apart with about 110k on it, those where in the oil pan too...........

Is this a common thing. I have 143,000 on my motor.

yup, ill be willing to bet you have them too, it not realy a huge deal, my motor was in exelent condition also, 190-200psi in all cylinders..............

bad chain guides... is the motor sounding like its knocking yet? when the guides go hella bad, the motor sounds toasted

Motor sounds fine, no knock

I check them out and replace

You can have my old mounts, they were totally seperated

cold start noise have anything to do with this being broke ? cause my car noise for about 2 min every cold start and quiet down after that.

You can take the front timing chain cover off to check them.

Mine broke as well, replaced them already, but I haven't removed the pan to take out the broken pieces, in fact I forgot about it completely LOL

Do I just remove the oil pan and to remove them?

Yeah mine makes a noise when it starts in the cold as well. Anyone have any suggestions for this?
