Fox Bodies At Barrett Jackson

If you have the chance to attend Barett Jackson I would recommend it. Not so much for the auction because imo that gets kid of boring.
The cool thing to me is walking around in the staging areas, it's like a huge car show with every make, model, year and brand from around the globe. Also some of the vendor displays are cool as well.

- '09+ 6.7L Powerstroke F350+

How'd I do? What'd I miss?
Skip that one. Buy a Dodge with a Cummins instead and save a fortune in fuel and repairs. :leghump: Powerjokes, the 6.4 is the worst for reliability, the 6.0 costs to much to make reliable, and the 6.7 is Volkswagen levels of stupid in engineering and BMW bad in oil leaks.

Rest of your list? Pretty good list, I'm especially a fan of the new GT350, it is phenomenal to drive.

Damn. I'd heard they were almost as good as the 7.3s.

The 6.0 gets a bad rap but it's been pretty good to my mother with around 200k and 13 years on an excursion. Couple accessories, and the EGR crap had to come out, but the stock drivetrain is still going strong.

What about my 97 sd 7.3 turbo?
I know it's slow but has been as dependable as a rock.
7.3s are too damned hard to find.

That said, 7.3 and 6.9 International-Harvester diesels in the Ford trucks (including the 7.3 Powerstroke) gave precisely zero :leghump:s whatsoever about what was happening to them.

I worked at a Lincoln-Mercury dealership with two guys that had such trucks, one was an '86 with the 6.9 that he ran on used motor oil from the tank, and the other a 2003 with a 7.3 Powerstroke that he ran on used transmission fluid from the flush machine. Neither one of them paid a dime for fuel and both had 50 mile daily commutes.

Ha! That's hilarious. I keep hearing about how you can run them on other-than-diesel fuels, but I didn't think that would be realistic on the HPOP system. The fact he did that with the '03, means the HPOP didn't care. I wonder if the thinner trans fluid was more appropriate than the used oil for some reason.

I asked Brad why he didn't run the used oil like the other guy, and that was his reasoning, the trans fluid was about the same thickness as diesel, and other than higher EGTs when towing (but still within tolerances unless pulling more than about 5,000lbs) he said there were no negative effects and he got the same fuel mileage.

He pretty much only had to buy diesel if it was a slow week in the shop or he was heading out on a trip.

The 6.0's bad reputation is earned in stock form, but with an EGR delete, ARP head studs, and upgraded head gaskets, they become virtually bulletproof. Hell, once it's deleted and studded, the sky is damned near the limit as far as tuning and power output.

You can't fix the defects in the 6.4. They took what was bad about the 6.0 and added new problems.

The 6.7 literally is Volkswagen/Audi levels of complicated, with two radiators, two separate cooling systems, stupid design elements like an oil passage from the block, through the turbo, to a quick disconnect, to a steel tube, to another quick disconnect that is actually the inlet for lubricating the turbo (let that sink in, they sent oil through the turbo, to an external line, back into the turbo, to lubricate the turbo); and just like damned near every BMW I work on, they ALL leak oil. Throw in that Ford actually put STANDARD sized fittings in said turbo when it's an engine designed in the 21st century and assembled in a country using the metric system (Mexico), and you'll start to understand my hatred of these pieces of junk.

Good to know. Need to make some mechanic friends. How did he filter? Did he just use a bucket and funnel?
He just pumped it straight from the BG trans flush machine into his truck. The machine was connected in-line between the transmission and cooler when flushing a transmission, so the transmission filter was already filtering the fluid going into the machine, and that was good enough for him. This guy had been doing it for three years and put 50,000 miles a year on his truck, so he wasn't having any problems from it.

For Sale/Trade: 865-661-8191 is a dealer but posts as a private seller
Have you noticed that most of his posts are priced super high or with the wrong price listed. Every day he reposts the same items and also requests same or similar items to buy. These few middlemen are keeping prices high. Simply cut them out and prices will come down. Please use the flagging system to identify gougers and dealers that post as private sellers.
Cut and paste REDACTED into the search field at the top right to see all of his lise tings. Some are marked dealer but most are not. He is buying and selling in multiple states but posing as private seller. Please flag so the gougers and flippers will get a real job instead of giving the antis fodder for their registration schemes at the expense of legitimate collectors

looks like he flips them.lists hehers had 3 ot
