I have a 88notchback and was wondering what I can do to put subs in this little trunk? I was thinking 2 10's or 2 8's or possibly one 10. Does anybody have a "how to" on building custom enclosures for these cars? Post pics of ur system if u have them!

thanks
chad

This forum doesn't see as much traffic as it did a little while back.

Search my username, and look for a thread titled "custom audio build diary".

You'll find all sorts of stuff in there.

I have a 92 Notch. I have 2 8" JL Audios in mine. I had a box with some cheapo subs in it that I swapped out and put JL's in. Due to my notch being a police package, I have a full-size spare tire which sticks up about an inch over the lip of the spare tire well. The only way I could fit the box in was to remove the tire, put the box in, and slide it to the passenger side of the trunk with the speakers facing toward the drivers side. The speakers dont face forward or back. Without having a custom box made that would eat up most of my trunk, or using truck boxes.... that's the only way I found to get 2 subs in. It sounds ok. I wasn't looking for super loud bass that everyone can hear. Just enough to give it extra bass that I could hear. The only good thing about my setup is that if someone wants to steal my subs, they would have to pop the trunk, unscrew the spare tire and remove it, then manuever the box so it can be taken out. Not worth the hassle haha! I don't have any pics that I can show though sorry.

I have the same sized trunk in my vert. It doesn't do much for space conservation, but I couldn't fit much of anything in there to begin with - so what da hell :)

That red grille only lasted a week or so. Took it off
