ok guys, im restoring an 87 LX hatch. It has faded porno red interior. Someone has already swapped out the dash for a grey one. So i went down to the local junk yard and picked up a few int pieces from a 93 model. Of those pieces, i got the rear quarter trim pieces. I was checking online prices to see if I got a good deal or not and keep coming up with quarters for 87-89 models and 90-93 models. Whats the difference?? i dont see any differences overall. If anybody knows this please let me know!! Thanks guys!!

I don't know if this helps, but the front seat belts are mounted higher on the B pillar in a coupe. I put 93 rear panels in my 88 coupe and I had to cut a hole for the seatbelt mounting point on the B pillar.....that and the whole -90 rear lap belts/90+ rear shoulder belts issue...but I don't believe that effects hatchs.

There is a difference. As said above, the seat belt mounting points are different, and the rear quarter panels on the 90-93 foxes are more "rounded" and have a slightly different design to them. I would suggest getting pieces from 87-89 foxes for your car. It might save you headaches down the road.

Something else that may help or not help. I have noticed when I do a search on ebay of "87-93 mustangs" some of the parts are not correctly listed. For instance the instrument cluster dash bezel is different for 87-89 than 90-93. Buyer beware and know what your looking at before your ebaying yourself because it doesn't match or fit.
