Bought an 83' Hatchback roller with most interior stripped. Snagged 2 interior rear hatch panels from the junk yard - not sure on specific year, but an 87-93. Figured they'd fit but it seems not quite..? Would these bolt up with limited modifications?

Hard to ship so if any come up on market place locally I'll snag but that may be years. Would prefer to work with the ones I have. Thanks.

I believe these are the general year spans

79-83
84-86 (change to split fold down rear seat)
87-89 (major interior refresh, speakers moves to the seat area out of the hatch)
90-93 (additon of 3-point seat belts)

Do you have a photo of the ones you have? Or rather can you see if they have the upper 3-point seat belt pass through over the rear speaker grill There are some physical differences between the 79-86 ones and the 87-93 ones.

This would be a true 1983 rear hatch area with the single rear seat back and the shade that connects to the hatch. Hard to find these parts

Thanks for the info that helps, definitely some big differences. Photo of what the junk pull got me after painting it. Wonder if I can just bolt it up and do a rear seat delete? Rather get this going in a few months looking decent, then slowly get compatible parts when they come up without breaking the bank.

Also another few questions
-The hatch/trunk panel to the back, are the compatible between years?
-The 2nd pic, not sure if normal but is there always a pretty big gap from the window side window interior to the hatch panels marked in red?

So those are 87-89 panels.

The gap is due to the aero style windows blocking off just a little bit more area than the older 79-86 windows

For the hatch panels, you will want 87-93 panels as there are minor between these and the early years due to speaker location. Not 100% sure if the earlier panels can be made to work. But I figure 87-93 is more plentiful.

It’s even reproduced

Best part of the pre 87 stuff is the amount of crap you fit in a hatch with the factory paneling... You can fit a hood in there and close it, can't do that with 90-93, think its The same for 89-87 with the speaker locations.

The link is only for the truck space panels, not the rear quarter panels.

I did this swap back in the mid 90s. Panels all fit but you will see the edge as you have shown in your pic. Try a VERY dark tint on that glass and you likely can not see it on the outside. Everything else worked (if I recall correctly).
