I have an 88 foxbody that I have recently done a 3G alternator upgrade on. When I went to start the car after the install, I didnt hear my aeromotive pump come on...I went back and check everything that I did, looked over the wiring on the solenoid ect. Long story short I looked at the relay under the seat and when I moved the relay a little the pump primed, then I noticed the key wasn't even in the ignition. If I tug on the relay itself (not the relay wiring) the pump will come on (and stay on until let go of the relay, not just to prime). Any ideas of what could be causing this?
Second question...I ran up to advance and grabbed a new relay in hope this would be the problem and when i got home I noticed the relay they gave me is a 5 prong and the stock ford relay is a 4 prong? When I put the new relay in the car, tugging and moving the relay did not cause the pump to cut on anymore, but still nothing when the key was turned on.
