Clean your mass air meter before you do ANYTHING else. Of all the things I've done to my car (which isnt alot), the cleaning of my MAF did 20 times more than all of it. If its dirty is will ruin performance.
Take all the change out of your ashtray. Vacuum the car out. Bump the timing up to 14 degrees. Take out the air silencer. Slap your best friend with a back hand.

well, me and my buds have had good luck with 14*, a drop in K&N, pullies, and gears, on a 98 4.6 we got a 14.2 (without 14*, stock timing), and my 94 got a 14.3 with those mods.

theres also the gas pedal mod no real power but it will feel like it go to mustangworld.com and check under how-to's

what the heck is the air silencer? b/c i did the homeade cai and didn't really pay any attention, just bolted on the pvc, and screwed in the k/n to the maf and that's it?
is the silencer the metal grate inside the maf because i didn't know why that was there?

air silencer is a box that goes into your fender that comes off your stock airbox...donjohn you dont have one by the sounds of it.
