Friend locked keys in car

Hi my friend locked his keys in his 89 lx. I know that i can pop out the window in my honda, but can you do that to a foxbody too without breaking the window? Thanks we really don't wanna pay $50 for a locksmith. Any suggestions?

can't do it....but for later try this

get 1 of those magnetic key boxes, and put it under the hood on the firewall....lots of places to hide it.

then if your locked out, you can pop the hood from underneath by pressing the latch...it's a little reach, but find the latch, and push it towards the drivers side.....you'll never be locked out again at least.

i used to keep a house key in my glove box, and spare car key under the hood

Mustang locks aren't that difficult to pick, if the electronic actuators are gone. At least thats what I assume when my 2 amps got stolen. Bastards

Yep. The old fashioned coat hanger worked for me when a ex-girlfriend locked her keys in her 5.0 coupe.

Try a metal coat hanger or car antenna if you have working power locks. I'd think it would be pretty difficult on a fox since the window frame kind of sits flush with the body of the car, but worth a shot...

I used to do this all the time on my Crown Vic... all you need to do is pry the door open just a little at the a-pillar, and go straight down with a coathanger or whatever and hit the power lock button. Takes about 5 seconds tops. So if you guys ever feel the need to break into a cop car, now you know...

get a slim jim.. the thing ment to open car doors without keys my dad had to buy one bc my mom locked hers in her car so many time lol

This may sound dumb but yes I have done it...luckily it was on a parts car....If you can get a good enough grip on the top of the door frame, you can pull it back far enough to get your arm in there and unlock the door....and simply bend it back when you get done

Ive done it so many times that my fater bought this kit that comes with a big wedge and some kinda pump and a long bar. Shove the wedge between the door frame and the car then stick the bar in and push the button. Get something like a big triangle and pry the door open enough that you can fit a broom stick in and push the button.

You guys arent worried about wrecking the door? If u bend it....i highly doubt u will be able to get it back to the original shape/position. A broom stick is huge! Why not use a hanger like mentioned above?

It doesent bend the door if anything it puts stress on the hinges. Ive done it so many times and never ruined a door. It will work. If all else fail i gote some old autolite 25's you can use to get in that car and get those keys.

maybe im misunderstanding the idea...but arent u bending the frame of the door that goes around the window back?

Its hard to explain but its not like your bending it out 5 or six inches. If any thing i pulls it out about an inch or inch and a half. Like i said earlier doesent even realy put that much stress on it.

slim jim won't work on a 5.0

you need to use the "z" shaped tool in the slim jim kit

slide through the window and rubber sleve...then you hook inder the lock part and lift it up

my buddy is a mechanic and he practices on everything he can.

btw...you need a mechanic to buy the kit....to thwart thievery
