i have a black gt. i also have a front plate. the thing that bothered me the most was when washing the car, i would cut my hand on the corner of the plate without a plate frame. the best solution i came up with is a 2002 honda civic front license plate bracket. it fits the plate perfectly, and comes around the edges of the plate too. the plate slips into the bracket. it gives it a clean install, i dont cut my hand when washing, and is not advertising for anyone!!! ill go shoot a pic real quick for you to see...

My GT is in the dealer body shop right now, for some warranty work.. The Paint guy is going to do up two frames for me. You can get a cheap, plain metal frame, that is rounded over on the edges and covers the plate. When paint matched..... they really help blend in the FUBAR ford made of plate mounting.

I live in a PA which doesnt require one. However, I bought my GT in IL which does. So when I picked it up it already had a dealer plate installed. I could take it off while i live here but I would have two holes in my front fender. So I just make do.

A color matched bracket, helps blend in the plate a bit.

I have a better bracket being painted now.. It only has two holes at the top, in the exact spot needed (so no slots like this generic holder)

I do not use mine either.. I believe most COPS that have their priorities in line, would view your car as a nice Mustang.. If he has alot of time on his hands, where everyone is abiding by the law, then if your the lucky one!
