Front Coil spring install!

You can also take them to a local BIG Rig shop and have them compressed and steel banded, then all you have to do is put them, get it all back together and cut the bands loose...

Never done it but have heard a lot of guys that do it.

I usually never use a compressor to remove springs, but I always use it to install the fronts, rears you can do with out them.

Can you rent them from an auto store? I am removing steeda sport springs, and installing Bilstein Coilover kit, will I need a compressor? I have taken the rears off before and that was not a problem, I just have never done the fronts. Thanks

I tried every place in the phone book including the big rig places and there was no one that would band springs for me, that was the point where I finally invested in the proper spring compressor, it made the job safe and easy!

I tried the spring compressor......good luck with that.

the spring compressor will help get it in but then you got to figure out a way to remove the spring compresser from the spring while having the spring loaded. not safe. it takes forever and alot of hand torque to use the compresser's too.

If you have the Correct Compressor the spring goes right in and the compressor just slips right out when you are done, very easy!

if the coilovers dont come pre-assembled you will need a spring compressor so that you can install the spring over the strut so you can get the adjustment and locking rings on. it will be like 2" too long and theres no way you can compress a spring that much on your own. coilovers are a different story. :)

The kit should arrive tomorrow, so I will check it and possibly still have some questions. So if the coilovers are pre-assembled, I shouldn't need a compressor? I am very anxious to get this full kit on my car. Thank you for the help
