Front license plate mounting options?

Lucky me was coming back to work from lunch and Mr. highway patrol was following me. I knew he was looking for something to pull me over for, I could feel it. So finally he passes me on the right and I roll my window down half way to hide the tint (should have done it all the way). So he passes me, slams on his brakes and gets behind me to pull me over. Sad thing was I was one exit away from getting off the freeway.

So he nails me for my tint and decides to get me for no font plate too. So is there an option to mount a front plate "temporarily" without drilling into the bumper? I dont know if one of those brackets will work with the chin spoiler or not.

I know I don't have a front license plate too but have it the trunk...in case I get pulled over I'll try the " sorry I just lost my front plate..a lose screw, here it is, I'm gonna fix it right now"...dunno if it will work tho..anyone try that before ?

i keep mine in the car, on the dashboard in the right side corner. if i get stopped i'll just tell the cop that its a new bumper and i am going to install the license plate that day or something.

I've never had any trouble with keeping it on the dash in the right corner.And I have been pulled over "once or twice".

I dont think if I pull into the police station with it in my windshield they will consider it "fixed". I need a bracket of some sort.

I thought of that but figured it would ruin the paint when I took it off.

i figured he could just put the plate on, get the ticket signed, then go home and use a blowdryer to remove the tape

ohh ok..no that would be kind of ghetto..attaching a license plate with double sided sticky tape.

Do you think the tape would take paint off with it? Ive seen some pretty strong double sided tape.

I don't think it would. There would probably just be some residue you would have to take off with some Goo-Gone....

yea if it proved to be difficult you would just use the blow dryer trick, that is, use the hot air from a blowdryer to heat the glue up a bit and then use goo gone

I think I may try that. I can even cut the threads off the bolts and attach the screw heads to the lic plate for that "authentic" look. I guess it wont be too bad except for the $60 to put the tint back on.

When I put on my grille delete, the double sided tape I used came off in a week. Didn't do squat to the paint. Took a week to come off so I think a trip to the police department will hold fine.

Sheet metal screw right through the bumper. There area 4 little spots on the front of the bumper as a reference to where to put them.

Im trying to avoid putting holes in the bumper since the plate is coming off right after I get home from the inspection.

I just put screws in the dimples on the bumper. I don't think it looks bad with the plate on the front. I guess I got used to it.
