Front seal keeps getting chewed up.
I just got my motor put back together after doing heads gaskets, heads and a timing chain. It runs great, but the little oil leak out the front seal is a pita. Everytime I put a new one in, it just chews the rubber towards the bottom and leaks out a bit. Its not to big of a deal as long as I watch the oil level often, but does anyone have an idea why my timing cover doesnt sit even around the crank, This is my whole problem. I have more room to the top then the bottom thats why it keeps tearing the bottom. The seals are being put in all the way. Is it because I put the cork pieces on first and let them dry before I put the rest of the timing chain on and it didnt let it pull down enough when I tightened it? Any ideas. By the way its not the balancer being bad. It has no wobble to it, and there are no ridges or things in it that would tear it up because I just took a wire brush on a dremel to it to make sure and it still does it.
